This soul food restaurant truly delivers on flavor and authenticity! From the moment I walked in, I felt a sense of community. I ordered the smothered pork chops, and they were among the best I've ever had! The gravy was rich and flavorful, and it paired perfectly with the fluffy mashed potatoes. Not to mention, the fried okra was crispy and fresh! The service was friendly, and my server was eager to make recommendations based on my preferences. The only downside was that parking was a bit tricky, but once I got inside, I quickly forgot about that! The prices are reasonable for the generous portions you receive. I appreciated that they also offered a variety of vegetarian options on the menu. I will certainly be returning soon to try their famous gumbo and experience more of the warm hospitality. What a fantastic find! I stumbled upon this place while exploring the local area and decided to give it a shot. The shrimp and grits were out of this world! The shrimp were cooked to perfection, and the creamy grits were so comforting. I also tasted the sweet potato pie, which was the perfect ending to a delightful meal. The staff was genuinely friendly and made me feel like part of the family. If I have to nitpick, the wait time for food could be a bit longer than expected, especially during peak hours, but it was well worth it. I’m already planning my next visit and can’t wait to dive into more of their menu!
